HUGE thank you to all of you who have been following and reading my daily poems this month (I know I have one more day in April).

I own the fact that many of my poems have not been tip-top, but I appreciate you reading and commenting. I have learned so much about a lot of poetic forms that I'd never heard of and/or ever tried. It's been a delightful challenge.

Also, if you are reading my posts from your email, please click through to my actual blog. It helps my analytics. 😉

Dear Mr. Böögg,

Thank you for burning for close to 13 minutes during the 2021 Sechseläuten Festival!

As a sign of the times, you even got 'infected' with the Corona Virus. You are brave.

But we have to say, Covid was a creepy looking dude - kind of like Shrek if Shrek had really bad burning acne.

We know we're in Switzerland, ahem, but he needs to watch how much he smokes.

Thank you also for being a good sport about being relocated to the mountains of Uri instead of 'getting lit' in Zurich.

And now you're a television star! We had a great time watching you burn on live TV since spectators couldn't watch in person because of Covid restrictions.

Always a bright side. All of your sides were BRIGHT!

We know slow burning is probably not a lot of fun, but at least your prognostication has nothing to do with coming out of a hole and seeing your shadow or being called a hog!

Böögg sounds so much better.

We look forward to enjoying the summer weather you predicted.

Warmly (see what we did there?),

Residents of Switzerland

The Swiss use an exploding snowman,

instead of a prognosticating groundhog.

How long it burns decides summer's plan.

The Swiss use an exploding snowman,

a sleeve of goosebumps or a suntan?

Just give us a reprieve from the fog!

The Swiss use an exploding snowman,

instead of a prognosticating groundhog.
