Escalator

Today I wrote my poem in the form of a 6 line Fibonacci with the syllable counts: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8.
This is the only poetry form that allows me to feel competent at Math. :)

Just You Wait: Powerpack Poem 7 - GYMNASTICS + Poetry Friday

I'm still writing poetry inspired by Sylvia Vardell and Janet Wong's  book, You Just Wait - A Poetry Friday Power Book. Today I am sharing the poem I wrote for the Powerpack 7 prompt, Look At Me (acrostic poem): Now try writing in the form of an acrostic poem. Here, the first letter of each line spells a key word (e.g., basketball). For an extra challenge, you might see if the first WORD in each line can also build a sentence (e.g., Be a success, kid: engage the brain, act like lightning).
I tried the extra challenge with my poem on GYMNASTICS:

French Fries with a Side of Oh My

Today's poem was inspired by the Ditty of the Month Challenge at Today's Little Ditty. This month Michelle hosted Jeannine Atkins who challenged us to write a poem that uses personified feeling. For more details, click HERE.

Ode To Super Bowl

I'm 2 days late and many dollars short for Super Bowl LI, but I'm here now. I personally don't feel like the best team won, but that's just my opinion...

Bold Prediction: Packers will win Super Bowl LII!

Parrots In the Tree + More Postcards

Nothing political today, just a flock of squawking animals...maybe it is political. Just kidding.
Today I am sharing a photo taken on my sister's street in Orange, California where a flock of parrots resides. Wild parrots in the O.C.  Click here to read an article about it.

And I received two lovely postcards this week, too! One from Donna at Mainly Write and one from Jone at Check It Out! I love poetry postcards! *swoon*
