Happy Poem In Your Pocket Day!

Today is Poem In Your Pocket Day and I am sharing a poem I've shared before, but with a new presentation style.
Which poem is in YOUR pocket?

You Just Wait: Powerpack Poem 11 - Ode to My Cookbook + Poetry Friday

We're halfway through National Poetry Month and I am heading into the home stretch of Sylvia Vardell and Janet Wong's  book, You Just Wait - A Poetry Friday Power Book .
Today I am sharing the poem I wrote for the Powerpack 11 prompt, Ode to the Game (ode poem): Now try to write an ode of your own. Think of something you love or enjoy and write a poem as a tribute or recognition of those special qualities, experiences, or memories (e.g., soccer).
I wrote an ode poem for Michelle Heidenrich Barnes' DMC challenge last month about something I marginally love to do: cook. (It was Helen Frost's brilliant idea to write ode poems).
Here is an edited version of Ode to My Cookbook:

You Just Wait: Powerpack Poem 10 - Beam Me Up

I am celebrating the remainder of National Poetry Month by working all the way through Sylvia Vardell and Janet Wong's  book, You Just Wait - A Poetry Friday Power Book .
Today I am sharing the poem I wrote for the Powerpack 10 prompt, Teammates (poem with internal rhyme): Try writing a poem that uses rhyme in nontraditional ways. Don't limit yourself to regular end rhyme and exact rhyme. Try using irregular rhyme, internal rhyme, or slant or "near" rhyme (e.g., team-means, hide-mind).
My poem is called Beam Me Up:

You Just Wait: Powerpack Poem 9 - Nutritious Relationship + Poetry Friday

While I have been in the throes of our families' Indiegogo project I have not had much time or energy to devote to National Poetry Month - boo!
So to keep on track I have decided to work all the way through Sylvia Vardell and Janet Wong's  book, You Just Wait - A Poetry Friday Power Book  as a way to give myself structure.
Today I am sharing the poem I wrote for the Powerpack 9 prompt, Less Pressure (found poem) (which was really hard for me): Try writing a "found" poem of your own looking for words from another source and then arranging them into a poem. You can use these paragraphs on airplane wings and drag, if you like. You can use another poem or page from this book. You can use a passage of prose from an online source. Or you can even use text from a cereal box or other source with words on it.
I used our Shredded Wheat cereal box which is below:

The resulting poem is (with apologies):

97% of friendship is
48 grams of appreciation
47 grams of simple acts of goodness
with a Big-Bite of surprise

Just You Wait: Powerpack Poem 8 - Spring Break To Do List + Poetry Friday

I continue to be inspired by Sylvia Vardell and Janet Wong's  book, You Just Wait - A Poetry Friday Power Book. Today I am sharing the poem I wrote for the Powerpack 8 prompt, The Shortest School Day Ever (sequence poem): Write a poem with a very strong sequence or time order. You could feature the hours of the day, days of the week, or months of the year - or have a completely different focus, like steps in "how to" do something or driving directions or a slice of history. Being that it is that time of year, my poem is about Spring Break:

UPDATE: YUGE THANK YOU to all of you who have investigated, shared, and/or contributed to our family's Indiegogo campaign! As of Thursday afternoon, April 6th, we have 22 backers and have raised $1,125 towards our goal - 5%! Woot! That translates to $225 going toward the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, the Union of Concerned Scientists organizations! Remember, you do not have to order a Tyrannosaurus Rump plushie in order to support this campaign. The "Back It" button allows you to make a donation to help us reach our goal without receiving a plushie. 20% of that donation goes to one of the above organizations.

And finally, join the Poetry Friday fun at Live Your Poem.
