I am back again with another poem inspired by Sylvia Vardell and Janet Wong's newest book, You Just Wait - A Poetry Friday Power Book.
Today I am sharing the poem I wrote inspired by the Powerpack 4 prompt: Any Tongue: "Write a cinquain (or string a few cinquains together) featuring your favorite foods or foods you would like to try or places you would like to visit. As a reminder, a cinquain is a five-line unrhymed poem made of lines with two, four, six, eight, and two syllables (in that order). "

This poem was written in the Skinny poetry form which was created by Truth Thomas. Here is an explanation of this form from The Skinny Poetry Journal website: "A Skinny is a short poem form that consists of eleven lines. The first and eleventh lines can be any length (although shorter lines are favored). The eleventh and last line must be repeated using the same words from the first and opening line (however they can be rearranged). The second, sixth, and tenth lines must be identical. NOTE: All the lines in this form, except for the first and last lines, must be comprised of ONLY one word."

Poetrepreneur - 10 Steps to Writing Acrostic Poetry Video
In recent weeks life has served up a couple of stress-filled events that fueled my poetic creativity: Bad CARma and Cast Off.
Then there was the lead up to the election and the election itself. Ugh. As I've said in the past, in times of crisis I get creative. And again I have put my crisis energy into creating something heartfelt, something helpful, and hopefully something humorous in this third installment of my 10 Steps To Writing Poetry Video Series - Acrostic Poetry.
My hope is that this video will help you feel better if you have been struggling. Let me know if it does. :)
You can also watch Video 1 - Riddle Poems here and Video 2 - Limericks here.

Cast Off
Today Daughter #2 gets her cast off. It has been a long three weeks trying to keep it dry - showers are tricky!
