Happy Poetry Friday! Find all the poetry goodness at Penny's blog!
Today's post is about gratitude. Gratitude to the Poetry Friday community for their kindness, support and feedback as I launch my new Poetrepreneur venture which was born out of crisis. Thank you for your kind words, supportive comments, and helpful feedback. I TRULY appreciate it.
Today I am sharing the second video in my 10 Steps to Writing Poetry videos: 10 Steps to Writing Limerick Poems. It comes in at 5:46 - much more doable time wise!
I have incorporated all the amazing feedback I got on my Riddle poem video (shorten the length, lower the volume of typing/music, include voice over, etc.) in this Limerick video.
Enjoy, and thank YOU!
*HUGE thank you to my daughter, Maureen for doing the voice over on the Riddle poem video and to my husband, Joe for lending his voice on the Limerick video.
P.S. (You can watch the new and improved version (ie. shorter) of the Riddle Poem video here.)
Enjoy, and thank YOU!

Awesome, Bridget! Love the garden snail example and the voice reading the poem. I hope these books do very well!
What a great tool for teachers! Love the little fingerprints!
It really is well done, Bridget. I like that you share the steps, part by part, so supportive & fun to see the asides from those thumbprints. The best thing is you make it look easy, will help others to get going to write their own.
Thank you, Brenda! I appreciate your kindness. My husband, Joe, voiced the limerick - he has a way with words. =)
Thanks, Penny! Hopefully teachers find it helpful and/or homeschool parents. We'll see... =)
Thank you, Linda! It is fun to make these, though it is not without its learning curve...just like poetry! =)
Nice job, Bridget. I was definitely captivated. Attention wavered when we got to checking spelling, but that was so close to the end. I love the little peanut characters and their comments. Such a fun project!
These are going to be so helpful to teachers (and I love the typing sounds, something new for the kiddos!)
Great work, Bridget. These are so much fun. Maureen and Joe did great work too.
Wee one is adorable. I hope Wee Word's feeling aren't hurt.
3-5 minutes is definitely a more classroom-friendly length for a minilesson. Bring on the limericks!
Another really cute video, Bridget! And I love the voice overs in both videos. I have two specific comments. First, the limerick characteristics section rolled by a bit quickly for me (I was struggling to keep up). The other thing is that you talk about a limerick being in anapestic meter, but yours is iambic. For the age group your targeting, maybe it's best to leave out the more technical terms altogether...?
Bridget, the steps make this so accessible for young writers. Keep going! xo
What a brave soul you are to launch a project this complex. What I've seen thus far is admirable--keep it up, Bridget!
Thank you, Dori! Yeah, the length is still a bit of an issue, but hopefully people will hang with it to learn a new skill. Love your feedback! =)
Thank you, Buffy! Yes, kids only hear the tap of computer keyboards now a days. Bringing back the nostalgia as I try to help new poets. =)
Thanks, Joy! I think Wee Word won't mind, he has to put up with Wee One after all. =)
Thanks, Mary Lee! Yes, I'm cognizant of time constrains for teachers. I'm trying to keep all the videos in the series at or around 5 mins. Hopefully I can be of service to teachers and parents. =)
Thank you, Michelle - the Limerick master! Your feedback is invaluable. I was worried about using the anapestic term/ meter issues. Best to not confuse the learner. I will edit soon. I SO appreciate your expertise!
Thank you, Irene! Your encouragement means everything to me. =)
Thank you, Diane! It's been fun, but definitely an undertaking. I appreciate your kind words. =)
Another epic success! (If a life crisis brings on this kind of thing, maybe I need one!)
I also so enjoyed your pork chop poem at Michelle's site earlier this week. Too funny!
Thank you, Violet! I appreciate your encouragement.
I can not take credit for the hilarious pork chop poem, though, that was by the talented poet, B. J. Lee - not me. =)
