Can You See the Stars?

One look
One smile
One touch
The collision of our worlds.

One joke
One laugh
One embrace
"I fell in love the way you fall asleep-slowly, and then all at once."

One sentence
One tear
One cancer
"The world is not a wish-granting factory."

One dawn
One dusk
One funeral
"I am so grateful for our little infinity."

Two hearts
Two lives
Two journeys
Written as one in the stars.

Nice! It's been inspiring a lot of reading and tears and conversation at our house too. Somewhere I saw people sharing their favorite lines. You have mine--the world is not a wish-granting factory.

My daughter Colleen penned this poem after we went to the "Night Before the Stars" movie premiere. Wow, what a movie (book) and what an impact on young people (primarily girls).
