Tooth Fairy Heavy Lifting

Under a fluffed pillow
and a sleeping girl's head,
I found a huge molar
nestled on the bed.

I'm just a wee fairy
with delicate wings,
when I tried to lift it
I felt a sharp zing.

So I dialed my dad,
to help with the tooth.
He is super strong,
ain't that the truth.

But he was sleeping
with it being midnight.
How will I lift that tooth
before the morning light?

I look for something,
become a super sleuth.
I find a piece of floss,
tie it around the tooth.

I pull and I pull
the tooth zooms off the bed.
It lands on the floor,
barely missing Pooch's head.

Pooch snuffles and sniffs,
then lets out a sneeze.
That giant molar
flies on the breeze.

I zip super quick,
catch the molar in midair.
With a glittery trail
I escape with flair.

Garden Dance

Garden plants
make me dance.

Tomato tango,
fig fandango.

Bean ballet,
squash sashay.

Dill disco,
carrot calypso.

Dancing mood
from garden food.

Lou Limerick

There once was an onion named Lou
Who longed to be cooked in a stew
To dance with potatoes
In a sauce of tomatoes
It was all Lou wanted to do.

Dinner to Dishes

We eat dinner,
scrape, scoop, slurp.
Best meal ever,
full belly burp.

Clean up time,
hit the road?
No, must help,
clear, rinse load.

Into the dishwasher,
clink, clank, clash.
Dishes get clean,
soap, spray, splash.

Teen Opinion

Mom and Dad,
married so long,
still hug and kiss -
Ew, so wrong!

Happy 25th to the Love of my Life.

Pool Fool

Water sloshes
throughout the pool.
I paddle and float
to keep cool.

Diving board,
I spring and jump.
A giant wave,
now Mom's a grump.

Super Hero Dad (redux)

Dad has no cape,
I checked his bureau,
But I'm convinced
He's a hero.

He swing real high
and bakes a pie.

He fixes the car
and opens a jar.

He reads me books
and baits my hook.

He mends my shirts
and hugs my hurts.

I love my dad
With all my heart.
He's my hero -
                  and smart.

Happy Father's Day!

Flag Day USA

Stars and stripes,
red, white and blue.
A symbol of freedom
for me and you.

When flown up high,
a source of pride.
When flown half mast
 honors those who've died.

Slow Sad Limerick

A worldly snail from Avondale
Took a trip that was an epic fail
He went to the sea
In a fit of glee
And ended up inside a whale

Can You See the Stars?

One look
One smile
One touch
The collision of our worlds.

One joke
One laugh
One embrace
"I fell in love the way you fall asleep-slowly, and then all at once."

One sentence
One tear
One cancer
"The world is not a wish-granting factory."

One dawn
One dusk
One funeral
"I am so grateful for our little infinity."

Two hearts
Two lives
Two journeys
Written as one in the stars.

When you are out and about
in this extreme heat,
drink a glass of water
then repeat, repeat, repeat.

Donut Glut

Chocolate donuts
frosted in glaze,
my tummy's happy,
my head's in a daze.

Happy National Donut Day!
