Pocket Poem

A poem in my pocket
is trying to get out -
pushing against my seam,
it wants to shout:

"I'm here,
hear me rhyme,
free me from
this linty grime!"

I take out my poem
and share it with you.
Check your pocket,
maybe you have one too?

Happy Poem in Your Pocket Day!!!

I love linty grime and the idea of everyone sharing the poem in their pocket.

I love the idea of a poem "shouting" to get out, Bridget. Very fun. Sorry I missed this yesterday!

Thanks, Liz! I love to think of a poem as a critter trying to get out of a pocket. = )

Thank you, Linda! Most poems want to be heard, don't they? = )
