What, no gum? Another fun poem, Bridget. I love the inclusion of body mist -- definitely adds an intriguing layer to the mystery woman :).
What's a dog's bone doing in there? :-) Fun poem, Bridget!
I agree with Jama. You're the one who is always offering me gum. So glad that you do. This is a fun poem. Happy Poetry Friday.
I love this. My mom always had a mushy red apple in her purse.
Love it, Bridget with all the nitty-gritty details inside your usual great rhythm. My granddaughter loves to 'look at things' in my purse, & adds some of what I have to her own.
Hairy mint! I've had a number of those in my bag over the years!
LOL. Is this autobiographical?
Thanks, Jama! I have gum in my purse all the time, but the fictional mom in this poem doesn't because this poet couldn't figure out a rhyme for gum. = )
LOL, Tabatha! I could see some dog owners I know carrying around a dog bone for their poochies. = )
You're right, Joy, I do always have gum...but I don't always have a good rhyme. = )
Thanks, Liz! When my girls were younger I carried apple slices and on many occasions they ended up mushy when I'd forget about them. = )
Thanks, Linda! Yes, my daughters did that when they were younger, now they are mostly looking for lunch money. = )
I know, right, Diane? Somehow they end up on the bottom of the purse with a hair-do! = )
Love the hairy mint! lol So funny.
Nope, Michelle! My purse is not very mysterious nor very big. Just the basics in my purse: wallet, phone, keys and of course, gum.
= )
Thanks, Carlie! I've had to fish a hairy mint or two out of my purse over the years. Usually it was because one of my girls would suck on the mint for a bit then put it in my purse "for later". Gross. = )
