Micro Superhighway

Tiny black dots
accelerate up
leafy onramps.
Antenna to bottom
they travel.
On twiggy overpasses
thousands of ants
merge,
yield,
and pass each other
speeding up
then braking -
stop,
go-
in the endless
rush hour traffic.

I love leafy onramps and twiggy overpasses. We talk about and observe ant highways at our house too.

Thanks, Liz! The ants really come out after a storm - with lots debris to negotiate. I think your kids and my kids would get along. =)
