Trapeze Artist

                                               To
and
                                        fro,
upside down
and
                                                               backwards,
the woodpecker
maneuvers
his body
                                              this way
and
                          that
 to sip
nectar
from the
hummingbird feeder.

  1. Oh that is so clever Bridget! I tried a gorilla one. Have you seen the Flamingo one in World Rat Day?

  2. Thank you, Catherine! I'd love to see your gorilla poem. I haven't seen the Flamingo poem in World Rat Day, but I look forward to reading that book. We have some very bold and acrobatic woodpeckers in our backyard who like to muscle in on the hummingbird's nectar even though they are too big. =)

  4. Thank you, Tabatha! I am amazed by these bold woodpeckers, thus the inspiration for the poem. =)
