...once a week poetry treat for the young and the young at heart...
It was an eleven year old nephew who taught me what a 'fist bump' was - I am so out of touch. :) Nice poem. :)
Thanks for stopping by, Myra! If you were here, I'd give you a fist bump. =)
Perfect. And a very original kid-friendly topic.
Thanks, Liz! It's a nice way to connect with people without doing the whole hug thing. =) *bump*
Cool and upbeat! Like it, Bridget! :)
I'm glad you do, Jama! Here's fist bumping you, *bump*! Thanks for stopping by.
Great, Bridget. I can hear kids chanting this (while bumping fists of course!)
Thanks, Buffy! Fist bumps are a fun way to greet people, young and old. *bump*
My daughter is in middle school and tries to teach me all sorts of variations on the fist bump. One is "blow it up," where you bump fists and then both people spread their hands wide like an explosion.
I love that variation! My girls call that one "fireworks" - so fun! Thanks for stopping by...*bump - finger wag*
Fun poem, Bridget! Catchy and upbeat. I'm sending you a *bump* as well - and a Happy New Year. :0)
Happy New Year to you, too, Robyn! I love that fist bumps are now part of the common experience. =) *bump*
Fun and friendly. This would be a great poem to put in a time capsule, as our body language ways of 'hi' are always changing.
Thank you, Violet, for stopping by! I fist bump you for your cool idea to put poems in a time capsule. =) *bump*
Even my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter does 'fist bumps'. You've captured this so well.
Awww! Linda, I can just imagine her chubby little fist bump. Too cute! Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. =) *bump*
LOVE this! Just perfect!
Thanks so much, Mary Lee! I had fun writing it (and I have fun fist bumping my friends and family =). *bump*
Fist Bump poem, who would've thought of that! Great rhymes and just plain fun. Love it.
Thank you, Margaret, for reading my poem and commenting! =) I appreciate it. *bump*
So darn cute!
Aw, thanks Sharan! My daughters are my inspiration - fist bumping when the do something well. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. =) *bump*
What fun! The fist bump has taken the place of the high five in my classroom.
I love that your students share this great way to connect! What grade do you teach? I appreciate you reading my poem and commenting. =) *bump*
