Wee Wednesday "Weader": Soccer Scores

Round ball,
Fast feet.
Shin guards,
Sharp cleats.

I block,
I run.
I kick -
Big fun!

Dribble
And score.
Post game,
I'm sore.

Thank you to my Wee Words "Weader", Lydia! SHE scores!

Start and Stop Storm

Rain starts,
Rain stops.
Downpour,
Drip-drop.

I sprint,
I stroll.
Stay dry,
My goal.

Gloomy,
Black cloud.
Shelter,
We crowd.

Sprinkles,
Wind blow.
Sunshine,
Rainbow.

Snow Globe Blues

I shake the globe,
White flakes drift down.
A magical sight -
Then Baby frowns.

Far too quickly,
The water clears.
I must shake again
To avoid Baby's tears.

Toothache

Awake,
Toothache.
 It throbs,
I sob.
 In pain,
Complain.
 Advil,
Until.
 Pain-free,
Poor me.

Closet Cleaning

Arrange,
Collate.
Clear out,
Donate.

Exciting News

I call Grandma
To tell her my news.
I won ribbons -
One red and two blues.

I got the red one
For my pirouette.
And one of the blues
For my string quartet.

The final blue one -
I'm the most proud.
I got that for singing
Super-duper loud.

Grandama's not surprised
By my success.
She's always known
I sing to impress.

Wee Wednesday "Weader": Pocket Bunny

Furry ears,
Fluffy tail.
My bunny is
Sort of frail.

On cold days
He will hide
In my pocket -
It's warm inside.

The perfect place
For him and me
Is snuggled in
My hoody.

Huge thanks to this week's Wee Words "Weader" Emily and her pocket bunny, Teddy!

Tater Tot Tuesday

Crispy nuggets,
Golden brown.
On tater tots
I chow down.

Peace, Love, and Acceptance

Martin thought words
About peace.

Martin wrote words
About love.

Martin spoke words
About acceptance.

Martin had insight
About peace.

Martin had vision
About love.

Martin had wisdom
About acceptance.

Today...
Be peace,
Be love,
Be acceptance.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!

Tinklebell Fairy

A scary fairy came to me,
Right before I had to pee.

I twisted this way and that,
It didn't matter which way I sat.

I heard that bell and had to go,
Tinklebell I'd always know.

By her uncanny ability,
To cause me to have to pee.

Dogstraction

On my way
To the tub,
I give doggy
A belly rub.

On my way
To have a chat,
I give doggy
A head pat.

On my way
To any place,
I can't resist
Doggy's face.

In A Pool of Sunshine

After snoozing
in a pool of sunshine,
she sprints
across the furniture
banking off couch cushions,
chair pillows,
and the ottoman.

Solar-powered dog.

Slippery Haiku

Hard crusted puddle
shadowed by the school building.
Slip-sliding away.

Wee Wednesday "Weader": Upon This Horse

I sit up tall
Upon this horse.
I'm ready to ride,
So is he, of course.

I will ride,
Swift and strong.
Upon this horse
Is where I belong.

Thank you to today's Wee Words "Weader" Colleen! (and Nom the horse).

Hard Frost

Desert
Hard frost.
Plant life,
Not lost.

Shrouded
Shrub, tree -
All night
Frost free.

Tummy Talk

I gurgle,
I rumble.
Without food
You stumble.

Feed me,
Your belly.
Even peanut butter
And jelly.

A sandwich?
Some hot soup?
Feed me soon
Or you will droop.

I'll cause pain
And a cramp.
If I had feet
I would stamp.

Do I smell
Yummy food?
Feed me quick,
Improve my mood.

Yuuummm!
Excellent choice.
Now satisfied,
I'll hush my voice.

Backseat Blind

The glare is
In my eyes.
I can't move -
You know why?

I'm stuck in
My car seat.
On the wrong side
Of the street.

Finally
Dad turns right.
I get relief
For my sight.

Before and After Baby

Life was better,
Before Little Sis.
I was Mom's only -
My life was bliss.

Now I have to walk
While Baby gets carried.
Since Sis was born,
Mom's tired and harried.

Having a baby sis
Hasn't been much fun.
Why did my parents
Want more than one?

When Sis cries,
I run and hide.
I don't like babies,
I must confide.

But before too long,
Baby is crawling.
She smiles and claps
With much less bawling.

Then she toddles
And follows me around.
It's like having
My own personal hound.

When I sit and read
Baby comes to bug.
When I start to yell
Baby gives me a hug.

This squishy surprise
Makes my heart warm.
Maybe I am glad
My sister was born.

Fist Bump

Fist to fist,
We bump a thump.
Knuckle to knuckle,
Our hands jump.

A form of hello,
Or I like you.
A special sign
Shared by two.

It Doesn't Fit

Mom bought my shirt,
It doesn't fit.
Back to the store -
She's in a snit.

But I am glad
It doesn't fit.
In purple paisley
I'm a twit.

Wee Wednesday "Weader": Bouncy Butt

I bounce my butt,
I spring up high.
My giant ball
Helps me fly.

Weightless I soar,
Hovering hair.
My body floats,
High in the air.

Thank you to my "wee weader", the Flying Mo!

I Love To Read

My bookmark
Holds my page.
How much more,
I can gauge.

Is there time for
One more chapter?
What will happen
To the captor?

What will happen
To the good guy?
Will he escape?
Please don't die!

I love to read,
I lose myself.
In the books
On my shelf.

Tea Party

The tea is hot,
Ready to pour.
Table is set,
Sit on the floor.

Varying Volume

The movie's volume
Goes up and down.
When it's up
Mom wants to frown.

When the volume
Is turned down low,
I try to lip-read,
But I'm too slow.

Then I use earbuds
And we're all happy.
I can hear my movie
And Mom's not mad at me.

Gift Cards Galore

Armed with lots
Of gift cards.
I shop and shop -
Deciding's hard.

Mexican food,
Department stores -
The entire mall
We explore.

Pair of shoes,
Low-rise jeans.
Burrito,
With no beans.

Shopping's fun,
Paid by gifts.
All these bags
Are hard to lift.

Storm Break

Low black clouds,
Sun streaks through.
Rainbow arch,
Kaleidoscope view.

After the Rain

Final drips
Have dropped.
The rainstorm
Has stopped.

My feet slip
On mud.
I stumble,
Whoops - T
                   H
                      U

Broccoli
Look out world,
She's gassy!

Thank you to the first ever Wee Words "Weader", Joe Uhlik (and Smidgey for her inspiration. :)

Happy New Year!

Fresh yew year,
Brand new plan.
Resolutions
Make the man.

More of this,
Less of that.
Exercise,
Cut the fat.

Less TV,
Write a book.
Cut my hair -
Whole new look.

2013
Is the year.
Reach my goals,
Vision clear.
