The desert
can be
a place of
breathtaking beauty,
vibrant color,
unique wildlife.
But
it can also be
a place of
danger,
desolation,
violence.
Cacti spikes can
poke,
stab,
hook their barbs
into
the careless.
Scorpions can
puncture,
poison,
and sometime paralyze
the inattentive.
Rattlesnakes can
strike
with a bite
anything that treads
too near.
Extreme temperatures can
scorch,
dehydrate,
blister,
the unprotected.
Be
ever vigilant
in the
desert.
Behold
the beauty,
but
heed
the danger.
Respect the desert.
