I sneak.
I take.
I give.
I only visit
When you lose something.

Me play.
Me no nap-nap.
Me play.
(Zzzzzzzzzz anyway...)

In the Middle of the Night
In the middle of the night
coyotes
are
yelling,
yipping,
and screeching.
In the middle of the night
they sound like
a child
wailing,
weeping,
and screaming.
In the middle of the night
the coyotes roam,
the child sleeps,
but Mom is awake,
listening.

Anything Is Possible
When I think outside the box...
While playing inside a box...
Anything is possible.
I can jet away to France
To buy red polka dot pants.
I can operate a train
To explore Bombay or Spain.
I can rocket to the moon
And bring along my baboon.

Pink Striped Socks
My tootsies stay warm
Through a winter storm
In my pink striped socks.
I slide down the hall -
Slip-slide but not fall
In my pink striped socks.
Curled up on the couch
Each foot in its pouch
In my pink striped socks.
I enjoy each day
In my unique way
In my pink striped socks.
Through a winter storm
In my pink striped socks.
I slide down the hall -
Slip-slide but not fall
In my pink striped socks.
Curled up on the couch

In my pink striped socks.

Note to Clowns
Some clowns make me frown
When they come around.
The big floppy shoes...
The wild rainbow hair...
The creepy white face...
Give me quite a scare.
If you are a clown,
Please don't come to town.

Who Am I? (feline version)
I have whiskers and fur.
I am frisky and I purr.
I pounce and I leap.
I swat and I sleep.

Full Moon
A full moon will be shining bright tonight.
It will fill my room with much too much light.
I wish I may, I wish I might...
Turn off the full moon, it is just too bright.

I wish I may, I wish I might...
Turn off the full moon, it is just too bright.

I Like Ice...
I don't like ice on the roads.
I don't like ice in the stream.
But I do like ice in my bowl,
If it's in my ice cream.
I don't like ice in the stream.
But I do like ice in my bowl,
If it's in my ice cream.
PEACE
Play fair...

Celebrate differences...
Embrace each other...

The Letter B
Bubble baths,
Belly laughs,
Brown bats in a banana tree.
Buzzing bees,
Ballet leaps,
Baby books from the library.
Today's poem was brought to you by the letter B.

Mysterious Black Liquid
What's that black liquid
Steaming in Daddy's cup?
It smells super good
And Dad drinks it all up.
It must taste yummy,
Dad smiles after one sip.
I want to try it,
But I don't want burnt lips.
Oh good, Dad's out back.
His cup has just enough...
Just one sip - SLURP - Yuck!
Dad drinks some nasty stuff!

A Conversation with a Teenager *
Teenager: "Mumble...mumble...mumble..."
Parental Unit: "What?"
Teenager: "Never mind..."
Parental Unit: "No really, what?"
Teenager: "Nothing..."
Parental Unit: "Seriously, I want to hear what you said?"
Teenager: "It doesn't matter..."
Parental Unit: "What. Did. You. Say?"
Teenager: "I forgot."
Parental Unit: *sigh*

Rise and Shine, My Little Sunshine
I can't go to bed,
I'm not even sleepy.
I can't go to sleep,
Everything is creepy.
What was that thunk?
Did you hear it?
I can't see it,
But I fear it.
*Deep breath in...*
I try to think of only good thoughts.
puppy licks...warm sunshine...Mom and Dad hugs...the smell of pine...
*Deep breath out...*
I try to relax my tummy knots.
"Rise and shine, my little sunshine!"
I can't wake up,
I'm still so sleepy.
I love my room,
Nothing is creepy.
I'm not even sleepy.
I can't go to sleep,
Everything is creepy.

Orange
Sunrise and sunsets.
Pumpkins and marigolds.
Marmalade and sherbert.
Carrots and carrot cake.
Goldfish and fish food.
Safety vest and traffic cones.
Orange you glad there is orange?

Kindness Helps
I am sad.
I know what happened, but I don't know why.
I want to help, but I don't know how.
Or do I?
I could share my cookie, I guess.
Or smile even when I don't feel like it.
I could be just plain kind.
To everyone.
Kindness helps.

Turbo Dog
A flash of white fur
Scrambles down the lengthy hall
Chasing tennis balls,
Chew toys, or nothing at all.
With only two speeds,
Turbo-speedy or asleep,
Pooch's either a lump
Or taking a flying leap.

Ode To My Fish
Back and forth you swim -
Forth and back again.
Your shiny golden scales blur.
I can not hold you,
Pet you, play with you,
But my love for you endures.

I can not hold you,
Pet you, play with you,
But my love for you endures.
Wee Pup
I have a wee pup,
A fuzzy pup,
A poochy pal of brown.
I have a squat pup,
A pudgy pup,
Who follows me around.
I Always, I Never...Contradiction in Haiku
Co always wakes up on time…except when she doesn’t...
My dog licks my cheek –
my own puppy alarm clock.
Where’s the snooze button?
Co never splashes in the bathtub…except when she does...
Flutter kicks combined
with belly slides make water
flow over the sides.
The Haircut
Mo found the scissors,
But not the paper.
A passing glance in the mirror
Revealed bangs in need of a trim.
